A newspaper is a printed publication consisting of folded un-stapled sheets and containing news, articles, advertisements and correspondence. It is usually issued daily or weekly. An online newspaper is a newspaper that exist on the internet.

Newspapers started creating an online version in a bid to compete with broadcast journalism in presenting breaking news in a more timely manner and also to strengthen their chances of survival. Most Newspapers didn't move away from their printed versions but rather, created an online version of the printed newspaper. So instead of waiting till the next day for today's news, you can just drop by the website of your favourite newspaper and read the stories as they unfold.
